Pixi skincare is one of my favourite drugstore brands because they have excellent products that work well. I have tried a few of their products, check out my brand review on everything I have tried and how to use it in a routine. Today’s post will be a full review on the Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser
The Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser has 5% Glycolic acid and promises deep pore cleansing. It removes dead skin cells to reveal more radiant healthy skin. It’s suitable for all skin types.
I bought this cleanser earlier this year because I wanted an acid based cleanser. The Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser was one of the more affordable ones on the market and since I love Pixi Glow Tonic, I thought I would try this cleanser.
The Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser has 5% AHA with aloe vera and feels very gentle on the skin. It is a non-foaming creamy cleanser which is suitable for daily use and Pixi also recommend to use this AM & PM. I use mine 2-3 times a week and at night or when it’s needed. I don’t necessarily recommend using it twice a day and in the morning because you can run the risk of over-exfoliation plus if you don’t use enough SPF (which most of us don’t) you also run the risk of leaving your skin more sensitive to sun damage.
For a mud cleanser, it doesn’t leave my skin dry. It actually leaves it feeling soft, smooth and clean. It also has a pleasant scent which I love. The texture is smooth and I massage the cleanser all over my face and skin (damp) with a little water. I use the Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser as a second cleanser to prevent texture on my skin. A small amount is all that is needed.
My only con is the packaging. I wish the tube was sturdier so that when you are dispensing the cleanser, it doesn’t feel so flimsy
This is a good AHA based cleanser which is very gentle on the skin. My skin can tolerate AHA well so I have had no bad reactions to it. With 5% AHA the cleanser offers great chemical exfoliation without the need of harsh scrubs. I always use SPF and I will recommend SPF use if you use any acid in your routine. I would recommend SPF anyway whether you use acids or not.
